Bruce Springsteen Opens Concert in Brooklyn with “Purple Rain”

The Boss Honors The Kid!

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklynwhen Bruce Springsteen opened his concert with a cover of the 1984 hit “Purple Rain” to honor Prince, who died Thursday at 57. The crowd was instantly engaged as The Boss kicked off the event with ambient purple lighting and a stirring rendition of the song, to which the crowd sang … and cried … along.
