The Tensions Are Building As Anderson Silva Gets Up In Chael Sonnen’s Face!
It was a most interesting pre-fight press conference as Chael Sonnen continued his barrage of insults regarding all things Anderson Silva, and the UFC Middleweight Champion finally had a chance to come face-to-face with his provocateur.
“If I lose to Anderson Siva, it doesn’t mean Anderson is that good. It just means that I am that bad,” Sonnen cracked, “Look, we’re going out there to fight. I don’t owe him anything and he doesn’t owe me anything. I just ask that he shows up on August 7th and I ask that he makes weight (at the weigh-ins)."
Perhaps the highlight of the pre-fight press conference was when Sonnen and Silva finally went face-to-face. With UFC President Dana White standing in between the two fighters, Sonnen went for the standard boxing stance, while Silva just faced Sonnen and stared. When White left the two alone for a two-shot photo op, Sonnen did the traditional turn towards the media, while Silva never moved, and just kept staring down Sonnen.
