Warner Bros. has released the teaser trailer for Joker: Folie a Deux, the sequel to the studio’s 2019 runaway smash hit Joker. The trailer features Joaquin Phoenix (returning to play the role of Arthur Fleck, aka Joker) and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
“Joaquin and I always talked about doing a sequel while making the first movie,” director Todd Phillips stated at CinemaCon, where the trailer debuted. “But we didn’t want to jinx it. But then the pandemic hit, and we talked more and decided to do it.”
“Lady Gaga is magic, and when we wrote the script, we kept thinking about her,” Phillips added.
The film opens in theaters on October 4th.
