There’s another controversy brewing over this weekend’s UFC 106. Tito Ortiz needs to lose 6 pounds by this afternoon’s weigh-ins in order to make weight for his fight with Forrest Griffin.
The “light-heavyweight” weighed in at 211 last night before going to bed in Las Vegas. “It’s going to be tough but I should have no problem,” Tito laughed last night, “(I) started at 220 this afternoon!”
The show has been plagued by one stressful issue after another, from Mark Coleman’s pullout to Brock Lesnar’s illness.
While the oddsmakers in Las Vegas have made Forrest, who has a 16-6 MMA record, the favorite at -165,, compared with +135 odds for the underdog but legendary Ortiz, one would think Tito is going to be able to make the 205 limit for light heavyweights. Our own Hustler de Tuti Hustlers joked on HustleTweet earlier today, “Tito can cut to 190 if Jenna is with him.”
Tito has a lifetime MMA record of 15-6-1.
