Strikeforce Hits The Pacific Northwest, and The Two Main Events Deliver at The Rose Garden!
Strikeforce returned to Showtime last night, and the Zuffa-owned promotion delivered at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon, as Nate “The Great” Marquardt won the vacant Strikeforce Welterweight Championship with a knockout of the previously-undefeated Tyron Woodley, and Luke Rockhold retained his Strikeforce Middleweight Title with a tough five round unanimous decision (49-46 on all three judges’ cards) over Tim Kennedy. According to CompuStrike, Rockhold landed 34 power strikes while Kennedy only landed 16.
