Not to kiss up to da boss, but someone here predicted this very moment (including the fall of Strikeforce and the ascension of Rousey to main event status in UFC) about a year ago. So when UFC held a press conference in Seattle to promote Benson Hemderson vs Nate Diaz today, the Ultimate Fighting President Dana White went for the publicity when he introduced Rousey and strapped the 135-pound women’s weight class division championship belt on the undefeated 6-0 sensation.
Rousey will become the first female fighter in the Octagon when she headlines UFC 157 against Liz “Girl-Rilla” Carmouche, a 7-2 competitor many expect to give Rousey her toughest competition to date.
