THE RINGER TAKES A LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES AT “THAT” CODY RHODES – PAUL HEYMAN PROMO

Jonathan Snowden is a long time combat sports reporter who has covered the biggest events in history. This year, he turned his focus to WrestleMania 39, where Cody Rhodes will challenge The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship.

In his examination of the highest grossing WrestleMania of all time, Snowden paid particular attention to the night Cody Rhodes and Paul Heyman kicked off the Road to WrestleMania with a back-and-forth on the microphone that is already considered legendary. Heyman, our boss, is the wiseman to the Bloodline and #SpecialCounsel to the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. Cody, of course, is the winner of the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble Match!

A brief excerpt from Snowden’s report:

When it was over, Paul Heyman dropped his mic. Mission accomplished.

Fifteen feet away, eyes blazing, Cody Rhodes seethed.

In the stands, the crowd sat in almost rapturous silence, witness to a kind of improvisational magic that exists only within the four corners of a wrestling ring.

All involved knew they had been part of something special, a moment that would live long in WWE lore—the promo that saved WrestleMania.

It’s easy to forget now, just a little more than two months after that February 6 Raw segment, how precarious it all was, how close to disaster.

We encourage you to read Snowden’s entire article here!
