We’ve been sitting on this story for several weeks, because sometimes getting re-posting rights on the Internet can be a little bit tricky. However, in his ridiculously-popular blog on his stupefyingly successful website (http://radio.mikehuckabee.com), Huck came clean on his resources when it comes to learning just a little more about health care.
In a blog posted HERE, Huckabee wrote:
You know, sometimes you can learn valuable things from the unlikeliest of places. A friend sent me a column by Paul Heyman, a blogger who usually writes about pro wrestling. Heyman got a call from Ultimate Fighting World Champion Brock Lesner, who recently contracted a mysterious illness that nearly killed him. Lesner had been watching the debate on government health care and had something to add. He said he fell ill in Canada, was taken to a Manitoba hospital, and lay around for over 48 hours while doctors tried to track down a spare part to fix their one, broken CT machine. Eventually, his wife bundled him into the car and drove him to a North Dakota hospital, where he got an immediate CT scan, a diagnosis of diverticulitis, and treatment that saved his life. Lesner said he loves the people of Canada, and the hunting, but he wants to tell all Americans: you do not want Canadian-style government-run health care. If it could nearly kill the toughest man in the world, think what it could do to you.
